ANCORT Company was established in 1990. The founder of the Company is a leading manufacturer of microchips and electronic gear in – the plant ANGSTREM (situated at Zelenograd, near Moscow). ANGSTREM had been the designer and producer of superlarge integrated circuits and of the equipment for the defense and space industry of the , due to its highest technological level.

In 1990 ANCORT started the development and manufacture in series of different electronic cryptographic devices and software products for data protection.

In 1996 ANGSTREM and ANCORT passed the privatization procedure, and ANCORT became a closed joint stock company where ANGSTREM is one of the cofounders.

ANCORT products are used in more than 300 commercial banks of , including The Central Bank, and in large commercial companies.

The protection system for the security of traffic of banking documents introduced by ANCORT in 1600 branches of the Central Bank in 1992 in 2 months period had put an end to the attempts of criminal groups to pilfer large amounts of money by use of falsified financial documents and misrepresentation. This system is unique by its large scale and reliability unheard of in the past.

The use of ANCORT portable encryption devices by the Paratroop Forces of the Russian Army during the combat operations in “hot spots” has proved its high efficiency.

ANCORT is acting abroad and successfully cooperate with more than 20 countries.

For the first time in world practice, the cryptographic algorithms of ANCORT have been certified by government agencies of foreign countries ( as an example) and have been recognized as unbreakable, even for supercomputers.

Here are ANCORT scientific designs and achievements that have no analogues in the world:

• Portable encryptor «Electronica MK 85 С ».  When this device was produced it had no analogues in the world in respect to its performance characteristics and cryptographic properties. Many Russian state and commercial organizations and organizations in more than 50 countries are equipped with this device.
• JSC ANCORT equipped the Russian Air-Borne Forces with encryption devices, and they were successfully used in many hot spots in and abroad. The cryptographic algorithm used in these devices proved it was impossible to decrypt it. The largest special services of the world could not decrypt this algorithm. The Command of the Air-Borne Forces awarded the President of JSC ANCORT with the Certificate of Honour for this work.
• JSC ANCORT equipped Frontier subdivisions of with encryption devices. They effectively protect the state border. The Command of the Frontier troops marked JSC ANCORT contribution and awarded it with a Diploma.
• ANCORT company developed a unique informational portable system for the President of the USSR M.S. Gorbachov. This system was used during his state visits abroad. It made it possible to provide the President with all the required information during negotiations abroad.
• Mini electronic digital signature was designed. It had no analogues in the world and provided effective protection for financial payments. 1992 – The Central Bank of was equipped with cryptographic devices and special software to protect financial payments. Mini electronic digital signature JSC ANCORT developed has been used for more than 14 years and it has never been falsified. The cryptographic algorithm ANCORT company has developed does not have analogues in the world in respect to its stability, that is why the Central Bank of chose it to protect financial information.
• The largest financial fraud in the history of the world banking system
• In 1996 the South African Communications Security Agency certified ANCORT cryptographic algorithm and found it to be unbreakable.
• In 1996 Royal Technological University of analyzed ANCORT cryptographic algorithm. The algorithm was considered to be unbreakable within the period of the existence of the Universe.

Not a single cryptographic company in the world had such an experience before in respect of international state aknowledgement and confirmation of the stability of algorithms the company developed.

• The first in the world international joint development of cryptographic devices.  A crypto telephone jointly developed by South African company CAT and ANCORT. These devices successfully functioned in dozens of countries.
• The first international commercial joint development of a crypto product in . Crypto E-mail PostCrypt designed by ANCORT and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd ().
• The development of the first in dual processor Crypto Smart Phone.
